Caravans and pilgrims, such as life, are composed of s-t-r-i-n-g-s of experiences that weave places and peoples together. Some journeys or moments are seemingly benign, but some are rather surprising, if not outrageous.
The Karistella project is hopefully a monsoonal journey that could help us tie into, observe, and perhaps understand some of the c.o.n.n.e.c.t.i.o.n.s. of the tiny things we pass by and use in our Everyday political lives, and the spectacular yet humbling Universe "out there".
We shall see we what these Journeys on a "karitela" reveal; and we shall share some of our own reflections and stories about them with you.
The object called Karitela is a blossoming carriage of traditional crafts drawn by a horse or a bull. The Karitela is usually a traveling troupe or family of farmers who venture out to trade on the road (literally) during the monsoon fallow season.
